Gathering around the table with family and friends was a key part of my childhood.

My friends would always come over and ask, “What treats did your mom make today?” Or, “What’s your dad making for dinner?” I still think they only came over to hang with my parents (go visit them at Teal Rose Coffee in Madras and you can see why).

Our home was always open – everyone was welcome – and it’s that model of hospitality that seeded my core value of connection.

Connection matters. And what better way to foster that connection than with food?

I believe that hospitality nourishes the soul. What’s more, I believe it should be fun and as stress-free as possible.
